All eyes were on Ajay Williams. The 6-5 junior, transferred from Fike to Beddingfield after his freshman year. He led the Bruins to a 66-59 victory by recording 25 points and 10 rebounds.  Trailing 40-39 entering the fourth quarter, Beddingfield captured the lead by owning the next five minutes of play. Beddingfield began the fourth period with a 6-0 run that consisted of a field goal each from Williams, senior Terrence Peterson and Elijah Hooks. The Bruins constructed a 64-52 margin and Fike was without a fourth-quarter score until senior Sam Ellis knocked down a 3-pointer with little time left. The Demons fought back to within three points on two times behind sophomore Anthony Evans and Virgil. “I thought we played hard, Secrest surmised, “but I was disappointed with our lack of execution. We didn’t run our offense all night. We lost our composure and little bit and, in the fourth quarter, didn’t handle the pressure very well. We got into the kind of game they wanted and kind of shot ourselves out of it. But I couldn’t fault our effort. Fike was led by Travon Virgil with 22 points, sophomore Anthony Evans with 13 points and senior Sam Ellis with 12. Fike lost key starter and captain, Brandon Gray, in the final period as he dislocated his shoulder. Fike welcomes Greene Central Friday night.
