The lady Knights of Northern Nash lived up to the hype Tuesday against Fike. The Northern Nash varsity women’s basketball team blew Fike out of the gym by winning 67-46. This win improved their record to an astounding 19-0. Northern Nash is very well on their way to their first undefeated season under Coach Battle. Alexus Hill and Quinesha Lynch led the Knights. Hill recorded 26 points and 5 rebounds and Lynch added 11 points and 5 rebounds. “They are just incredible,” Howard commented. “They look for each other. They are A-rated players, but the other three are Bs. They’re just a good team; what do you do?” The Fike defense stood strong, but the tandom of Hill and Lynch made the scoring look easy. Northern outrebounded Fike 43-37. “Defensively, we played a fantastic game,” Howard said. “We were as good defensively as they were. But they’re maybe the No. 1 team in the state and you can’t trade baskets with them. And you certainly can’t let them score four times to your one.” EJ Proctor continued her impressive scoring habits. She recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds for Fike. Senior Sha’Tera Black recorded 23 points while Jamika Ruffin added 6. Breyonna Brown added 7 points. Next up for Fike will be a home game against cross-county rival, Hunt.
